Try KYB Document Review Yourself: Run ARGOS Omni on Sample Documents
Try KYB Document Review Automation with ARGOS Omni
Onboarding a business customer means checking more documents than most people expect. A state certificate, an IRS EIN notice, a beneficial ownership form, and often more. Reviewers open each one, match the legal name and EIN across documents, confirm the company is still in good standing, check that every form is recent enough, and make sure a control person is named.
The work is repetitive, but it is never trivial. Miss one detail and a business that should have been stopped gets through. Be too cautious and a perfectly good customer is asked to resubmit documents.
So when teams evaluate AI for document review, they tend to ask the same two questions.
"Can it really read the documents we receive?"
"Can we see why it made the decision it made?"
We felt the fastest answer was not another explanation, but letting you run it yourself.
That is why we added a new Try it section to our KYB Document Review Automation page. No sign-up and no setup. You can watch ARGOS Omni review a business case from start to finish, right on our website.

Three sample cases, three different situations
Each sample is a US business with three documents: a Secretary of State certificate, an IRS EIN notice, and a beneficial ownership certification.
Sample | Situation | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
Ferncliff Provisions LLC | Delaware LLC, documents in order (two owners, all three documents current) | How Omni handles a clean case |
Quillmark Labs, Inc. | Corporation, no control person (control section of the ownership form left blank) | How Omni treats an incomplete ownership form |
Brightwake Outfitters Inc. | Texas corporation, existence forfeited (the state certificate shows it was forfeited) | How Omni applies a good standing rule |
Running all three side by side shows how the same policy plays out across very different situations.
All samples are fictional documents. What you see, however, is not a scripted animation. It is a recorded run of Omni on those documents, sped up.
Omni follows the steps written in your policy
Once the review starts, you can see exactly what Omni is doing and in what order. Each step shows whether it is running, done, or has found an issue.
After uploading and reading the documents (OCR), the sample review runs through seven steps.
Step | What Omni does |
|---|---|
01 Check the submitted documents | Confirms the state certificate, EIN notice and ownership certification were all provided |
02 Read the state certificate | Extracts legal name, entity type, state, file number, formation date, status and certificate date |
03 Read the IRS EIN notice | Extracts taxpayer name, EIN, notice type and notice date |
04 Review beneficial ownership | Checks the entity, EIN, control person, signature and certification date on the form |
05 Check good standing and dates | Confirms the entity is in good standing and the documents are under 90 days old |
06 Match the legal name and EIN | Compares the legal name and EIN across all three documents |
07 Decide and follow up | Applies the policy to decide the case and prepares the next action |
The steps come from your policy, written as sentences
Omni does not invent these steps. You write your review criteria as plain sentences, and Omni turns them into the steps it runs.
For example, your onboarding policy could include rules like these.
1. The company name, registration number and representative on the business registration must match the application.
2. Screen representatives and directors against AML and sanctions lists; send any match to human review.
3. Record every shareholder holding 25% or more; if holdings total more than 100%, send the case to human review.
When your criteria change, you change the sentences. No development work is needed, and because every case is reviewed against the same written policy, decisions no longer depend on which reviewer picked up the case.
A decision, with the reasoning behind it
When the review is finished, everything comes together in a single report. Let's look at the result for the Texas corporation, Brightwake Outfitters Inc.
What went wrong, and why Omni decided as it did
Omni rejected this case.
All documents were provided, the legal name and EIN matched across all three, a control person was named, and every document was under 90 days old. But the good standing check failed.
The Texas Secretary of State certificate shows the company's status as "Forfeited existence" due to an unfiled franchise tax report. Under the policy, an entity that is not in good standing cannot be onboarded, so Omni declined the case.
A reviewer would normally catch this by reading the status line on the certificate and knowing what it means. Omni does the same, and records exactly which value it read and how it reached its conclusion.
What the report shows
Decision: verified, rejected or needs human review
Summary: the key reason and any issues found
Overview: processing time (1 minute 2 seconds for this sample), analysis score and the documents reviewed
Step by step: whether each step passed, with a detailed explanation
Extracted values and reasoning: every value Omni read, and where it came from
It drafts the message to your customer, too
Omni does not stop at finding the problem. For this case, it also prepared the follow-up and a message for the customer.
"Your onboarding application cannot be approved because the Certificate of Status from the Texas Secretary of State indicates that BRIGHTWAKE OUTFITTERS INC. is not in good standing (Forfeited existence). Please resolve this status with the state and submit an updated Certificate of Good Standing to proceed."
Reviewers can check the report and send the message as is, instead of writing a new one for every case.
Every value has a "Why"
The Extracted values and reasoning section lists everything Omni read, grouped by document: legal name, entity type, state, file number, status, EIN, control person, certification date and more.
Each value has a Why link showing which document and which part of it the value came from, so a person can verify the AI's work quickly. The full report can also be downloaded as a PDF for internal records or audits.
Three outcomes, and people decide the hard cases
Omni returns every case as one of three outcomes.
Outcome | Meaning |
|---|---|
verified | Meets every criterion in the policy |
rejected | Fails the policy |
pending_review | Needs a human check |
If any step needs a human check, the case goes to your reviewers. The goal is not for AI to make every call. Omni takes on the repetitive cross-checking so your reviewers can focus on the cases that truly need judgment.
What it looks like in real KYB work
Try it keeps things simple with three documents per case, but in production Omni can cover a much broader KYB review.
Documents it reads
Corporate documents such as business registration and registry extracts
Shareholder information
Representatives
Ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs)
External data
Review steps
Confirm the entity information
Verify relationships (representatives, shareholders, UBOs)
Cross-check against external data
Check risk, including AML watchlist screening
Apply the onboarding policy
Decide on exceptions
Omni cross-checks the documents against each other, screens representatives and directors against AML watchlists, and decides each case against your onboarding policy. Every field records which document and value it was based on.
How the work changes for your reviewers

Recording decisions | Notes kept separately, if at all | Values and reasoning saved in the report, downloadable as PDF |
Customer follow-up | A new message written for each case | Next action and customer message drafted for you |
Frequently asked questions
Can we plug it in as a KYB API?
Yes. You set the review criteria as sentences in the dashboard, then submit documents and fetch results through the API. Other review work can be added the same way, not only KYB.
Which file types can it read?
PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, images (JPG, PNG, WEBP, TIFF and more), TXT, Markdown, CSV, HTML and EML, up to 100MB in total per case.
How does it connect to our systems?
Submit documents and fetch results through the API. Results come back as JSON in the structure you define, and are also available as a dashboard report and PDF.
Want to try it with your own policy?
Besides the samples, Try it also has an Upload your own tab.
If you'd like to see how Omni fits your team's review work, talk to our sales team. Tell us which reviews your team does by hand today and the criteria behind them, and we will set up a test project with those criteria.
The same approach works for other document reviews beyond KYB.
Corporate telecom subscription review: cross-checks business registration, incorporation documents, signatory ID, power of attorney and the service application to verify signing authority
Insurance claim document review: cross-checks claim forms, medical or accident records and policy information against payout criteria
Vendor onboarding document verification: cross-checks a certificate of good standing, bank verification letter and beneficial ownership certification, and screens AML watchlists
See AI document review for yourself
When you bring AI into document review, the question that matters most is whether you can trust the result.
Try it shows you how Omni reads the documents, what it compares, and why it reaches each decision, from start to finish. Not an AI that just gives you an answer, but an AI that shows its work.
