Upgraded KYC Service with Enhanced Security and Operational Efficiency

ARGOS Identity continuously improves its KYC (Know Your Customer) service functionalities every month to boost speed, security, and user convenience. This October update focused on enhancing the user experience and streamlining processes, resulting in a significant overall improvement in service quality.

Specifically, the strengthening of the Face Auth (Face Authentication) verification procedure, the addition of the Return URL Skip function, and a document-free, selfie-only identity verification process have substantially improved the operational efficiency for various clients. Let's take a look at the features improved in October!

Optimized ARGOS Client Dashboard Time Zone Feature for Global KYC Services

A Time Zone setting feature has been newly added to the Client Dashboard. Managers can now directly change the time zone on the dashboard as needed. This allows data to be managed based on a consistent time standard across the globe, significantly enhancing the regional operational efficiency for global clients.

Face Auth Update: Immediate Selfie Re-authentication for High-Risk Events

Immediate selfie re-authentication is now performed during high-risk events such as unusual logins, large-scale withdrawals or cashouts, or a sudden spike in abnormal behavior.

By combining face matching against the registered profile and Liveness detection (active/passive methods), re-use and proxy authentication attempts are blocked. The authentication results are managed centrally via the dashboard and webhooks, simplifying monitoring.

  • Face Auth blocks re-use and spoofing attempts through profile comparison and Liveness detection.

  • Immediate face re-verification is triggered based on policy-driven triggers (high-risk events).

  • Threshold and policy granularity, along with result lookup functionality via dashboard and webhook integration, have been enhanced.

This improvement strengthens security without causing additional user inconvenience, simultaneously reducing loss and False Positives during high-risk scenarios.

ARGOS Liveform Improvement: Enhanced Authentication UX by Removing the "Get Started" Button

The existing "Get Started" button will now be automatically clicked when the ARGOS Liveform loads in a mobile environment, meaning the button will not appear in a visible state. This allows users to start the authentication process without a separate action, completing the verification quicker by eliminating one initial step. Removing this unnecessary button from the home screen improves both compatibility and convenience, strengthening continuity across iOS and Android browsers. Furthermore, even if only an email address is registered, authentication starts automatically without an additional click, which reduces bounce rates and increases conversion rates.

Key Improvement Effects

  • Enhanced compatibility and continuity across iOS/Android browsers

  • Minimized user distraction and facilitated faster authentication

  • Automatic start of the authentication process even with only an email registered

  • Reduced bounce rate and increased completion rate

Return URL Skip Function for Flexible Authentication Flow Configuration

A new Return URL Skip function has been added, allowing the automatic redirection step to be bypassed after authentication is completed in a specific flow. This feature is useful when the completion screen needs to be maintained or shared, such as during customer support, QA testing, or internal verification processes.

Since there is no immediate redirection after authentication, testing and verification procedures are simplified, and if a customer operates a custom completion page, it speeds up CS response time and shortens the overall Turnaround Time (TAT). This enables clients to manage page transitions and user flows more freely, designing the UI and UX according to their own policies.

Implement Efficient Identity Verification with the Selfie-only Process

This update supports a Selfie-only authentication process for identity verification and risk screening using only a selfie, without the need for document capture. This feature is particularly effective for age verification, early-stage fraud detection, and cost optimization. Users can complete authentication simply with a real-time Liveness-based selfie capture, and operational efficiency is maximized through integration with Face Duplication detection and Risk Tiering policies. Delaying the Document OCR step saves initial costs and shortens the Turnaround Time (TAT) for verification.

Additionally, risk can be screened solely with the first selfie capture before document submission, which helps lower subscription churn. Furthermore, MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) verification has been strengthened: the name, issue date, and expiration date on the passport are scored and compared against the values entered by the user, boosting accuracy and enabling the early identification of potential forgery.

Key Features

  • Simple authentication possible with real-time Liveness-based selfie capture only

  • Integration with Face Duplication detection and Risk Tiering policies

  • Delayed Document OCR step to save initial costs and shorten TAT

  • Risk screening possible with only the first selfie before document submission reduced churn rate

This October update is not just about adding features; it was designed around three core goals: streamlining operations, strengthening security, and ensuring regulatory compliance. ARGOS will continue to provide a fast, secure, and optimized identity verification environment for the global market. Furthermore, we will keep evolving to maintain the balance between user experience and regulatory adherence in response to the constantly changing regulatory landscape, delivering a trustworthy authentication experience to customers worldwide.
