July update (1): Reducing operating costs and improving onboarding speeds at the same time! eKYC solutions are better!
AI-based identity authentication platform ARGOS Identity continues to roll out monthly updates to enhance the speed, security, and convenience of its KYC (Know Your Customer) services. At the core of these updates is a focus on reducing operating costs, accelerating onboarding speed, and strengthening measures to block fraudulent users.
In particular, new functions have been added that meet the needs most frequently expressed in the KYC process, enabling actual service operators to manage authentication more conveniently and securely.
1. Pending Customer Processing Settings (Inspection Setting Function)
Imagine a bank reviewing loan application documents. Some are approved immediately, while others remain “pending.” At this stage, who reviews and processes the pending cases depends on the bank’s internal policy.
In this ARGOS update, you can now choose how to process pending cases that occur during the KYC process.
ARGOS Inspector: An ARGOS expert directly reviews the case.
Customer API: When a case is pending, you can decide whether to keep it in the “automatic processing only” state or set it for manual review.
If you choose Customer API inspection, the case can be reviewed directly through a specific API.
However, if a pending case has been created under the ARGOS Inspector option, it cannot later be switched to the Customer API inspection. This means the setting must be clearly determined from the start.
For example, if a new subscriber’s ID photo is blurry and needs to be verified again, selecting “Expert Judge” ensures that the ARGOS team handles it. On the other hand, if you require an internal review, you can select the Customer API inspection.
By flexibly allocating pending cases based on the nature of the service, you can speed up reviews and allocate operational resources more efficiently.
2. SMS Authentication Function
When making a payment at an online shopping mall with two-step verification, you often enter a 6-digit authentication code sent to your mobile phone after providing card information. This process is the second layer of authentication.
With this update, this additional authentication step can be applied to the ARGOS ID check process. When submitting ID documents, you can configure the system to request an additional mobile phone authentication code (not managed via the dashboard).
This allows verification that the phone number matches the user, significantly reducing the risk of identity theft. Applying this to high-value or high-risk services such as loans, large payments, or overseas remittances can greatly enhance security.
3. Automatic English Conversion Function
When writing the Arabic name “محمد علي” in English, people may spell it as “Mohamed Ali,” “Muhammad Ali,” or “Mohammed Aly.” In this update, ARGOS introduces the ability to read the name on an ID card submitted by a non-English speaker via OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and automatically convert it into standardized English.
This ensures data standardization, improves global service compatibility, and reduces authentication failures caused by inconsistent name spellings during overseas payments or international account integrations.
4. Submission Restrictions (Excessive Submission Prevention)
Consider an online event registration: if there’s no “once a day” limit, some people might submit hundreds of applications. In this update, KYC submissions can now have similar restrictions applied, with limits based on email address, user ID, and IP address.
If a restriction is triggered, the system can immediately block the attempt using proxy/VPN detection.
This prevents indiscriminate submissions via bots or automation tools, effectively filters out non-legitimate users such as those using counterfeit IDs or creating multiple accounts, and reduces unnecessary workloads for the review team ultimately lowering operational costs.
This update is not simply about adding new features; it is designed to further enhance service efficiency, prevent fraudulent use, and strengthen global readiness. The new pending case management methods, SMS authentication, automatic English conversion, and submission restriction functions provide immediate, tangible benefits in real operational environments.
ARGOS will continue to deliver an authentication environment that combines speed, safety, and global compatibility, enabling businesses to meet regulatory requirements while improving user experience in today’s complex global market.
