Expanding Global Ticket Authentication Infrastructure
ARGOS Provides AI-Based eKYC Service to NHN LINK’s “Ticketlink”

To strengthen fraud prevention and global user authentication in concert, exhibition, and sports ticket booking environments, ARGOS is providing its AI-powered non-face-to-face identity verification (eKYC) solution, “ID check,” to NHN LINK’s ticketing platform, Ticketlink.

ARGOS has announced that it will provide its AI-powered online identity verification (eKYC) solution, “ID check,” to NHN LINK’s ticket booking platform “Ticketlink,” supporting the establishment of an authentication system designed to prevent fraudulent ticket purchases.

This collaboration was initiated to help reduce various fraudulent ticketing activities that continue to occur in concert, exhibition, and sports ticket reservation environments, including ticket scalping, macro-based bulk purchases, and duplicate account creation, while building a safer and more trustworthy ticket booking environment centered around real users.

Recently, the global concert and sports industry has been rapidly moving beyond simple ticket booking systems toward “real-user-based authentication infrastructures.” In particular, abnormal booking attempts using macro programs and multiple accounts have become recurring issues in popular concerts and sporting events, making platform stability and user trust increasingly important priorities.

As global ticketing platforms continue to see growing numbers of international users, platforms must also consider different authentication systems, identity document formats, and account management environments across countries. In many cases, simple mobile phone verification alone is no longer sufficient to determine whether a user is legitimate.

Why “Real User-Based Authentication” Matters in Global Ticketing Platforms

The concert, exhibition, and sports industries are rapidly becoming more globalized.

According to South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, approximately 4.76 million foreign tourists visited Korea during the first quarter of this year (January–March), marking a 23% increase year-over-year and the highest first-quarter figure on record. Demand from major Asian countries such as China, Japan, and Taiwan continues to rise, while visitors from long-haul regions including the United States and Europe are also increasing.

As global user bases continue to expand, ticketing platforms are recognizing that building reliable real-user authentication systems is becoming increasingly critical. Without proper verification of legitimate users, operational risks such as ticket scalping, account trading, fraudulent reservations, and account theft can significantly increase.

ARGOS Identity is a company specializing in global online identity verification (eKYC) and AI-based identity authentication services. Through technology capable of automatically recognizing and verifying identity documents from multiple countries, ARGOS provides authentication solutions optimized for global service environments.

Its flagship solution, ID check, combines ID OCR, forgery detection, face matching, and liveness verification into a single streamlined flow, enabling businesses to establish trust-based authentication systems even in online environments.

In particular, ARGOS leverages AI-based forgery detection technology to proactively identify and block various fraudulent attempts, including fake IDs, identity theft, and abnormal account creation. Through this, the company expects to help reduce ticket scalping and abnormal reservation activities while contributing to a fairer ticket booking environment centered around legitimate users.

Strengthening Account Protection and Ticketing Convenience for International Users

This collaboration with NHN LINK is meaningful not only for preventing fraudulent reservations but also for improving account protection and authentication convenience for global users.

International users often face difficulties using Korea’s mobile-phone-based verification systems, which can create friction during account registration and identity verification processes. In cases involving account theft or identity misuse, account recovery procedures have also been limited.

By supporting a global-user-oriented authentication infrastructure within the Ticketlink environment, ARGOS aims to provide not only domestic users but also international users with a safer and more reliable ticket booking experience.

The most significant aspect of this collaboration goes beyond simply offering authentication features. It represents the establishment of a “real-user-based authentication infrastructure” required for global ticketing platform operations. In concert, exhibition, and sports platform environments, balancing both security and user experience is becoming increasingly important preventing fraudulent users while maintaining a smooth and natural authentication flow for legitimate users.

Building on this collaboration, both companies plan to continue enhancing authentication systems optimized for global user environments and expand their cooperation from the concert, exhibition, and sports industries into various platform sectors.

Wonkyu Lee, CEO of ARGOS Identity, stated:

“We are pleased to support the creation of a safer and more trustworthy ticket booking environment through our collaboration with NHN LINK. Starting with global concert, exhibition, and sports platform environments like NHN LINK, we plan to further expand authentication infrastructure for global users across various industries, including finance, commerce, and digital platforms.”
